- The successful individual of this position will provide holistic support to students through spiritual and cultural guidance, access to
ceremony, in one-to-one or group settings. The Cultural Advisor will help students achieve mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness
in a culturally authentic way modelling the Longhouse Values. The purpose is to help guide students to achieve their personal,
cultural, and academic aspirations with a strengths-based approach.
Qualifications:
• Completion of a certificate in a Community Social Service or related program and two (2) years of recent, related
experience working with Indigenous individuals, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Experienced in working with Indigenous individuals, communities and/or organizations related to cultural guidance and
wellness.
• Experience coordinating and delivering traditional wellness/medicine, and ceremony within community.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Indigenous history, rights, and healing modalities.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, computer use, and familiarity with office procedures are required.
